I went to Ho Chi Minh City in May 2023 and was shocked by how abruptly the monsoon began; the city transformed from dry heat to heavy rain within days. December averages 28°C, November sees 150mm rainfall, and July boasts 80% sunny days, with local meals costing around €1.20. My biggest warning: avoid Tết (Lunar New Year) as many shops and restaurants close unexpectedly for days, disrupting plans.
