Day 1-2: Arrival & Highlights

Start your trip by visiting Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano), the city's iconic landmark. Admission to the rooftop is €18 and opens daily from 8:30 AM to 7 PM (varies in winter). Next, stroll through Piazza del Duomo and enjoy a coffee at the historic Caffè Cova or head to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II for some shopping or a meal at one of the rooftop restaurants.

Day 3-4: Museums & Culture

Visit the world-class collections at the Museo del Novecento (€10, 10 AM to 7 PM) and the Accademia delle Belle Arti for contemporary and modern art. Don’t miss the Leonardo da Vinci Museum in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, which delves into the genius behind the artist and inventor (€15, 9 AM to 7 PM). For a unique experience, book a private tour of the Sforza Castle complex (€18, 8:30 AM to 7 PM) to explore its museums and historical significance.

Day 5: Local Life

Head to the Navigli district in the afternoon to explore the canals, enjoy aperitivo at one of the bars like Bocconi Club, and shop at local boutiques. For a taste of Milanese cuisine, try Trattoria La Fata Morgana or Cenacolo Ambrosiano for traditional dishes like risotto alla Milanese. End your day with a relaxed dinner at a family-run enoteca like Enoteca del Casello.

Day 6: Day Trip

Take a 1.5-hour train to Lake Como from Milano Centrale station (€10-15). Spend the day exploring the elegant town of Bellagio, visiting Villa Melzi (€10), and taking a boat ride on the lake (€15-25 per person). Return to Milan in the evening for a late dinner in the Brera district.

Day 7: Departure

Use your last morning to pick up last-minute souvenirs at Mercato Coperto or enjoy a final breakfast at a local café like Al Procopio. If time allows, visit the Piazza San Babila area for high-end shopping or a final espresso at one of the historic cafés like Caffè Miani before heading to the airport or train station.

Budget & Tips

Plan to budget around €15-20 for meals at mid-range restaurants, and save money by grabbing a panino and espresso for a quick lunch. Book museum tickets in advance online to skip the lines and take advantage of combo tickets where available.
