Day 1-2: Arrival & Highlights

Start your Madrid adventure by checking into a centrally located hotel like the NH Collection Palacio de Tavira in the Salamanca district. Head to Plaza Mayor in the afternoon for people-watching and a café con leche. In the evening, walk to Puerta del Sol and take a night walk through the city to get your bearings before diving into the weekend nightlife.

Day 3-4: Museums & Culture

Visit the Prado Museum, home to masterpieces like Las Meninas and The Third of May 1808. Admission is €15, and it's open from 10 AM to 8 PM on weekends. Next, explore the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (€15 entry) and the Reina Sofía Museum for modern art, particularly Picasso’s *Guernica*.

Day 5: Local Life

Spend the day in the charming neighborhood of Lavapiés, where you can explore local markets and enjoy authentic tapas at La Bola. Stop by Mercado de San Miguel for fresh seafood and a view of the city. Finish the day at El Rastro, Madrid’s famous flea market, open every Sunday from 9 AM to 2 PM.

Day 6: Day Trip

Take a 45-minute train ride to Toledo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its medieval streets, the Alcázar, and enjoy panoramic views of the city from Mirador de San Martín. Return to Madrid in the evening for a relaxed dinner in the Chueca neighborhood.

Day 7: Departure

Use your final morning to revisit any favorite spots or do some last-minute shopping in Gran Vía. Enjoy a final meal at a classic churrería like Churrería San Fernando, and head to the airport via Madrid Metro, Line 8 (Aeropuerto Line), which runs every 10 minutes from the city center.
