Hotel Bucura sits in Căciulata, part of the Călimănești spa resort in Vâlcea county, right in the Olt river valley at the foot of the Cozia massif. It is one of Romania's oldest and best loved balneary areas, known for its mineral springs and clean mountain air.
Inside, the focus is quiet recovery: a full spa and wellness centre with an indoor pool, sauna, jacuzzi and massage treatments, a restaurant serving Romanian and international dishes, and a terrace that opens onto the valley. It suits a weekend of walking in the Cozia National Park just as well as a longer wellness stay.
